DC lancera au printemps 2026 une mini-série Absolute en 6 épisodes sur Green Arrow, basée sur un Oliver riche et proche du canon de base qui est inspiré par le one-shot Absolute Evil.
Launched less than a year ago, DC’s Absolute line has become a pillar of its superheroes - featuring stark reimaginations of top heroes such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Martian Manhunter, and more. And coming in 2026, they are doing it again, with Oliver Queen.
As announced during the DC All In: What’s Next? panel, an absolute version of Green Arrow will debut in the upcoming Absolute Evil event series coming this fall, and then spin-off into his own six-issue series by writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Rafael Alburquerque. Whereas the Absolute Batman became who he is by not having the money of his mainstream counterpart, the Absolute Oliver Queen will be leaning into his 1% roots
« You’ve seen these powerful, rich people on the outskirts of the Absolute Universe… now for the first time, they’re actually meeting, » Pichetshote says of this fall’s Absolute Evil event series. According to the writer, the actions of these heroes emerging is inspiring others to stand up to the status quo - billionaires included.
« [Absolute Evil] inspires the Absolute Oliver Queen. He looks, of all the characters, the most similar to the one in the DCU, » Pichetshote says.
Pichetshote is best known for his work on creator-owned crime stories such as Infidel and The Good Asian, but he has even deeper roots at DC - being an editor under the original Vertigo line for years. It’s there that he met Albuquerque as he was drawing American Vampire, but now it’s come full circle.
Absolute Green Arrow #1 (of 6) will debut in the spring of 2026.
