Après la saga Fire & Stone qui faisait se rencontrer les Aliens, les Predators, les Ingénieurs et une poignée d’humains, l’éditeur Dark Horse relance la franchise des Xénomorphes avec la mini-série Aliens: Defiance du scénariste Brian Wood (Rebels) et du dessinateur Tristan Jones (Mad Max: Fury Road).
Se déroulant très tôt dans l’histoire de la série, Defiance suit la soldat coloniale Zula Hendricks, mise en retrait suite à une blessure à la colonne vertébrale, et un groupe de guerriers synthétiques modèle Davis enquêter sur ce que la corporation Weyland-Yutani suspecte d’être une contagion extra-terrestre exploitable.
Pour le moment, Wood a prévu 12 épisodes à son histoire. Le premier numéro sort en début d’année 2016.
