For years, fans have speculated that Nick Spencer’s Amazing Spider-Man run was building toward undoing One More Day, Marvel’s 2007 storyline that erased Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson’s marriage from continuity.
Dan Slott has now directly addressed that speculation, confirming that Spencer did, in fact, want to undo One More Day. However, Slott says Spencer was never given permission to do it, and that editorial made that position clear throughout his entire run.
“Did Nick want to undo OMD? Yes.
But was he ever given permission to undo OMD? No.
Were they consistent about this every step of the way? Yes. There is no world where editorial gave the go ahead for Nick to undo that 616 storyline. Editorial has been consistent on this since 2007 and hasn’t wavered.”
Slott also pushed back against what he calls an “internet-constructed belief” about what happened behind the scenes, emphasizing that wanting to undo OMD and actually being authorized to undo it were two very different things.
The revelation adds another layer to Spencer’s run, which heavily featured Peter and MJ’s relationship and the mystery surrounding Kindred, leading many readers to believe the story was ultimately heading toward undoing the deal with Mephisto.
Slott ended his explanation by saying:
“I’m not saying this to be mean or insulting. I’m saying it in as straight forward a way as possible, because you’re all adults and I’m trusting that you can handle it when someone tells you the facts of a situation, even if you don’t like the outcome.”
So the long-running fan theory gets a pretty significant confirmation: Spencer wanted to undo OMD. According to Slott, Marvel never gave him permission to actually do it.
Je me refais le run de Fraction sur Punisher war journal dont j’ai peu de souvenir. Les épisodes 13 à 15 de début 2008 ont la même intrigue. Ici le fils de Kraven kidnappe les vilains ayant un totem animal
