Pour célébrer la sortie de la nouvelle série Amazing Spider-Man et du film Amazing Spider-Man 2, le scénariste Dan Slott (Superior Spider-Man) fera une relecture des origines de l’araignée avec la mini-série Amazing Spider-Man - Year One: Learning To Crawl. Il sera aidé dans sa tache par Ramón Pérez, dessinateur récompensé pour son adaptation de Tale Of Sand de Jim Henson et qu’on a pu voir à l’œuvre sur la série Wolverine & The X-Men.
Du peu que l’on sait, l’histoire se concentrera principalement sur les premiers jours de Peter Parker dans le costume de Spider-Man. Il sera confronté à son premier super-vilain Clash; un jeune délinquant qui est inspiré par les faits hauts en couleur du tisseur racontés dans le Daily Buggle. La mini-série s’étendra de mai (Amazing Spider-Man - Year One: Learning to Crawl #1.1) à septembre (Amazing Spider-Man - Year One: Learning to Crawl #1.5).
