Synopsis :LE CAPITAINE RENTRE À LA MAISON ! Et elle a une toute nouvelle mission ! Avec l’Outremonde établi, le Braddock Manor restauré et son frère – le Capitaine Avalon – à ses côtés, on pourrait penser que les choses vont plutôt bien pour Betsy Braddock. Seulement, il s’avère que la bonne vieille Grande-Bretagne ne veut pas qu’elle revienne. Personne ne veut d’une menace mutante portant le bouclier de Captain Britain et Betsy s’est fait plus que quelques ennemis sur son chemin. Sans quête et sans pays, Betsy doit se définir un rôle. Une nouvelle version d’un personnage bien-aimé, ne manquez pas la dernière extravagance de Tini Howard et les débuts Marvel de l’artiste préféré des fans, Vasco Georgiev !
Sur cette planche, ça ne se voit pas tout de suite :
Les personnages sont comme des pantins dont on agite les bras, avec les mains dans une seule position : y a des articulations pour les coudes, pas pour les phalanges.
C’est pratique : ça fait des mois que j’ai lâché la proposition Excalibur de Tini Howard, je reviens par curiosité dans cette suite… et rien n’a changé.
Rien. N’a. Changé.
Hormis la spécificité du couple Betsy / Rachel (très artificiellement animé ici), il n’y a rien de neuf. Je retrouve les mêmes éléments, les mêmes intrigues qu’avant. Betsy est contestée dans son titre de Captain Britain par les Britanniques, des Variantes l’appellent à l’aide via son Corps, Brian l’aide en jugeant un peu, Jamie fait n’importe quoi, et Morgan LeFay manipule dans l’ombre contre elle.
Toujours la même chose. Pratique, hein, pour ne pas se sentir dépaysé, mais surtout pour confirmer mon départ. Les défauts de Tini Howard demeurent et rendent l’ensemble lourd à lire, alors que le graphisme de Vasco Georgiev est moyen mais se laisse lire.
Un retour régulier aux mêmes choses, c’est lassant et toujours aussi faible.
