Le plus grand rêve de l’écrivain (Eschatôn), essayiste (Les Dieux de Kirby) et traducteur (dans plein de comics) Alex Nikolavitch (après celui de passer une nuit en tête à tête avec Annie Cordy pour vérifier ce qu’elle a sous son grand chapeau) va enfin se réaliser grâce à l’éditeur américain Boom ! Studios.
De fait, le Jack Burton de Big Trouble in Little China (plus connu dans nos contrées sous le titre « Les aventures de Jack Burton dans les griffes du Mandarin ») et Snake Plissken de Escape from New York (« New York 1997 ») - deux personnages hauts en couleur interprétés par le même acteur, Kurt Russel, dans deux films de John Carpenter - sont prêts à se rencontrer sous la plume et les crayons du scénariste Greg Pak (Action Comics, The Totally Awesome Hulk) et du dessinateur Daniel Bayliss.
L’intrigue de cette mini-série en six chapitres voit « Jack Burton voyager dans le temps jusqu’au futur dystopique de New York 1997 pour tomber nez à nez avec son sosie ».
Baptisé sobrement Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York, le premier numéro sort en octobre prochain avec deux couvertures complémentaires (voir ci-dessus).
Fan des bons films de genre, cette annonce vous est dédiée.
Jack Burton aura même le droit à son jeu de plateau grâce au partenariat signé entre l’éditeur Boom! Studios et les marques de jeux Everything Epic et Flipside Design Studio.
Décidément, il fait son petit chemin, le Jack, malgré l’échec du film au boxoffice lors de sa sortie en salle.
