This October, AGE OF REVELATION takes the Marvel Universe 10 years into a future where the world has been reshaped by Apocalypse’s heir, Doug Ramsey AKA Revelation!

Announced last week, AGE OF REVELATION #0, a surprise prelude issue, will be available at select retailers later this week and additional copies can be ordered now. AGE OF REVELATION officially begins this October in AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1, a one-shot by current X-MEN (2024) creative team, writer Jed MacKay and artist Ryan Stegman. Following that, AGE OF REVELATION continues in bold new titles, including an evolution of the entire current X-Men line. Today, fans can learn about the first of these new series, all hitting stands on October 8.

The world is beholden to the will of REVELATION! Doug Ramsey commands Earth with his voice, creating the Revelation Territories, a new mutant utopia built on an insidious lie. Beneath the surface, rebellion brews and as a ragtag X-Men team strikes from the shadows, Revelation faces threats from within. Welcome to the AGE OF REVELATION!

Pas mauvais, mais pas brillant, et ça n’a sûrement le potentiel que pour un one-shot et non pas une mini-série. Stephanie Phillips montre donc Binary, alias Carol Danvers, dépositaire du Phénix et qui, depuis dix ans, protège une ville du X-Virus en le repoussant avec toutes ses forces. Mais la population doute désormais d’elle, du X-Virus et s’oppose avec elle, avec une femme mystérieuse (Madelyne Prior, a priori) qui les manipule pour mener une émeute contre elle.
Bon, c’est sympathique mais limité. L’idée de Carol avec le Phénix, pourquoi pas mais la voir uniquement se limiter à une ville est décevant. Voir la révolte grandir via Madelyne est plutôt pertinent, mais cela demeure assez vide et creux en soi, avec des dessins corrects mais pas emballants de Gina Belviso.

Une bonne idée pour un one-shot, mais cela risque de donner une mini-série assez vide.

X YEARS LATER: Beware the power of the Phoenix as Binary faces threats from all angles in Binary #2, on shelves and digital platforms October 8, 2025, from Marvel Comics

Pas mauvais mais pas vraiment intéressant. Stephanie Phillips approfondit son approche qui me semble trop faible pour tenir une mini-série, avec donc le flashback montrant comment Jean Grey se sacrifie pour créer un bouclier autour de la Terre et empêcher la diffusion du X-Virus, devant Carol Danvers qui reçoit alors le Phénix. Elle a protégé depuis dix ans sa ville de naissance, mais les gens se retournent contre elle et l’attaquent. Elle se contrôle, grâce à des messages de Jean par l’au-delà, mais elle est agressée par Madelyne qui exige de récupérer le Phénix.
Bon, ça se lit mais ça s’oublie vite. Le scénario ne me paraît pas assez dense pour justifier autant de numéros, alors qu’il est décevant de voir Carol « juste » protéger sa ville de naissance. C’est cool de la confronter à Madelyne, mais ça reste pauvre, avec des dessins juste corrects de Gina Belviso.

Pas mauvais mais creux et dispensable.
