What if a vampire cabal took over the White House? ‘Bloodland’ brings political horror to NYCC
The 12-Issue Political Horror Series Debuts Spring 2026.
October 10, 2025
What happens when American democracy crumbles—and the only thing keeping the president in power is a pact with vampires? That’s the terrifying premise of Bloodland, a new political horror epic from writer B. Clay Moore (The Leading Man, Last Flight Out of Wichita) and Eisner-nominated artist Mack Chater (Stranger Things: Tales from Hawkins, Blood Stained Teeth). The series was officially announced at Ignition Press’ Retailer Day presentation during New York Comic Con and will debut in Spring 2026.
The book has been years in the making. “Mack and I actually started plotting and outlining this book almost five years ago, and we’re both excited to finally get it in people’s hands,” Moore shared. “It’s a big story with lots of moving pieces… no publisher has ever launched with a better understanding of how to serve creators, retailers and readers, and it’s exactly where Bloodland needs to be.”
At the heart of Bloodland is President Andrew Cross, clinging to an unconstitutional extended term through executive orders, martial law, and a hand-picked Supreme Court. To keep power, Cross strikes a sinister deal with an ancient cabal of European vampires known as the White Cell, transforming the country into a nightmarish war zone.
Amid the chaos, two unlikely leaders rise: Heather Brooks, an army veteran on a relentless mission after her infant son is sacrificed to the state, and Son Cassidy, a retired pro quarterback who ignites a populist resistance. Together, their collision course may reshape the fate of a nation consumed by blood and tyranny.
“Mack and I have been scheming on this for years,” said Chater. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and Ignition has been the perfect partner to bring this vision to life. We can’t wait for you all to see it!”
Bloodland #1 arrives in early 2026 with open-order covers by Chater and Christopher Mitten (Hellboy & the B.P.R.D., Detective Comics), plus a 1:5 variant by Andrea Sorrentino (Gideon Falls, Old Man Logan). Fans can also grab a preview ashcan later this October.
