BLOODLINES : HOSTILE TAKEOVER #1-6 (J.T. Krul / V.K. Marion)

A partir d’avril 2016, l’éditeur DC Comics revisitera la saga Bloodlines à l’occasion d’une mini-série en six chapitres sous-titrée Hostile Takeover (occupation hostile), écrite par J.T. Krul (un revenant en qui DC Comics avait fondé beaucoup d’espoirs lors du lancement du New 52) et illustrée par V. Ken Marion.

Bloodlines est un crossover publié en 1993 au sein de plusieurs Annuals avant de se conclure dans le diptyque Bloodbath écrit par Dan Raspler. Il racontait la confrontation entre les super-héros de l’univers DC et une race d’extra-terrestres xénomorphes se nourrissant du liquide cérébro-spinal humain.

Les rares survivants étaient alors transformés en une nouvelle génération de surhommes aux pseudonymes très marqués par l’époque : Blood Pack, Razorsharp, Psyba-Rats, Anima, Loose Cannon, Argus ou Gunfire ; le seul a avoir eu une véritable carrière étant le Hitman de Garth Ennis et John McCrea.

Dans cette nouvelle histoire en six chapitres, Krul et Marion orchestrent une nouvelle invasion horrifique où les habitants d’une petite ville qui ont péri lors du crash d’un météore sont les mieux lotis. Les survivants se retrouvent quant à eux confrontés à une bataille infernale pour le contrôle de leur esprit et de leur propre corps.

Amusant.
J’avais gardé le souvenir d’un événement globalement anecdotique, mais en fait, je n’avais pas lu grand-chose. Récemment, j’ai trouvé l’Annual de Robin consacré à cette saga, écrit par Chuck Dixon et dessiné par Kieron Dwyer (autant dire que j’ai accroché), avec différents encreurs, dont Garcia-Lopez. Complètement dispensable et effectivement anecdotique, mais plutôt bien écrit et bien dessiné.
Quelle idée, cela dit, de revisiter ce truc.

J’avais réuni quelques numéros d’**Anima **(je ne sais plus pourquoi, il me semble que la scénariste est aussi romancière) je vais voir si je les trouve et regarder ça de plus près.
