En voilà une surprise ! Après plusieurs années sans série « jumelée » depuis l’arrêt de** Torchwood** et de The Sarah Jane Adventure, la BBC annonce Class, une nouvelle production se déroulant dans l’univers (riche) de Doctor Who.
Supervisée par le romancier Patrick Ness, cette nouvelle série à destination des jeunes adultes raconte comment les élèves de Coal Hill, l’école où enseigne actuellement Clara Oswald, se débrouillent pour protéger Londres lorsque le mur de l’espace et du Temps s’amenuise et que le protecteur attitré de la Terre, le Docteur, est absent pour endiguer les menaces.
La première saison sera composée de huit épisodes et paraitra en 2017 sur la chaine BBC Three.
De quoi faire passer la pilule concernant l’absence d’une saison complète de Doctor Who en 2016 ?
Oh, je viens juste de voir les deux noms apparaissant sur le panneau…
Et je viens seulement de réaliser que l’école où Clara enseignait était la propre école de Susan (la petite-fille du Docteur) où enseignaient, du coup, les premiers compagnons du Docteur !

The main title sequence was labeled “WIP” (“work in progress”), and included a modern rock track (with lyrics!) that is a far cry from the parent show’s iconic theme.
However, the familiar Doctor Who theme is heard (and it is beautiful).
Idris Elba makes an appearance.
Funniest line: “I bet she ate that missing kid.”
He’s not from Sheffield.
There’s a genuinely surprising reveal at around 9:13 into the episode.

“Run!” (This is the Whoniverse, after all.)
Honestly, April’s storyline is rather half-hearted.

Je m’en doutais un peu, mais c’est dommage : il y avait du potentiel…
J’ai, moi-même, été un peu déçu du résultat, qui n’a pas pris la direction que j’en attendais, malgré de bonnes idées.
