La première maxi était…laborieuse.
Débutée comme une maxi de 12 numéros, elle a été traitée comme un event avec divers tie-in essentiels pour comprendre comment l’histoire avançait sur plusieurs fronts ( et oui, c’est la guerre ! ).
Dans un mic mac pas possible pourtant. Car la gestion des différents fronts des combats était mal gérée. Mais, certaines idées, perdues dans l’immensité des numéros étaient intéressantes mais peu exploitées : les persos de The Authority par exemple : MIngnighter contre Prometheus et leurs ordinateurs de combats intégrés respectifs qui se battent entre eux virtuellement ( donc on ne voit rien ) , Jack Hawksmoore qui changent car les villes elles-mêmes ont changé à cause des vampires. Jenny Spark qui mute car l’esprit du temps mute ( ce qui fait se demander pourquoi l’esprit du 20è siècle vit encore. Mais alors que notre siècle arrive à la fin de son premier quart, difficile d’y voir un siècle qui ne prolonge pas énormément la fin de son grand frère ).
Trop éparpillée , trop incohérente ( quelqu’un a compris comment le vampirisme se répand ? Parfois on a le sentiment que c’est par simple morsure, d’autres fois qu’il faut échange de sang ; pourquoi le vilain qui était un héros a foutu le binz ? ) .
