This February, Lin Lie returns in Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun , a five-issue series from writer Yifan Jiang (Eternals: 500-Year War) and artist Paco Medina (Venom , Spider-Boy ). The story marks the next chapter in Lin Lie’s evolution as Iron Fist and a major turning point for the character’s legacy.
The series serves as a perfect entry point for new readers, following Lin Lie as he leads Marvel’s greatest martial artists against his brother Lin Feng. As the Seven Heavenly Cities fall to demonic invaders, Lin must unite unlikely allies—including Elektra, White Tiger, White Fox, Pei, Karnak, and Fooh—to stand against the oncoming darkness.
Jiang, who’s been with Lin Lie since his earliest stories, says crafting this chapter feels like both an honor and a heavy responsibility: “I know we’re here to entertain you—trust me, you won’t see the punches coming!” Medina adds that he’s thrilled to bring his own vision to the Iron Fist mythos, noting that the series is “something completely new and full of challenges” and praising Jim Cheung’s original design for Lin Lie.

Foufou, bordélique mais sympathique. Yifan Jang mélange les éléments récents de la franchise pour essayer d’y donner du sens, avec le frère de l’actuel Iron Fist, Lin Lie, qui a pris possession de K’Un-Lun en étant possédé par Chiyou, le dieu de la guerre que leur famille devait stopper. Il mène Davos et ses troupes pour anéantir toutes les Immortal Weapons et soumettre leurs Villes Immortelles, pour obtenir ce qu’il faut pour libérer Chiyou, avec de vagues conseils de Loki. Lin Lie est à New York avec White Fox, avec qui il flirte, mais aussi l’inventeur Oncle Fooh et Pei, prévue comme Iron Fist mais qui avait sacrifié son Chi pour Shou-Lao. Leurs relations sont compliquées, alors que Danny découvre ses pouvoirs en Avatar d’Osiris dans l’au-delà avec Loki qui vient les alerter. Lin Lie, Elektra et White Tiger repoussent un sbire de son frère à New York, mais celui-ci envoie toutes ses troupes pour soumettre la ville !
Bon, ça part dans tous les sens mais c’est sympathique. Le scénario reprend la mini-série sur Lin Lie qui finissait en eau de boudin et l’essai récent sur Danny, et c’est cool pour la continuité et les personnages. C’est cohérent et fluide, facile sur la menace mais les dessins de Paco Medina sont efficaces.
La franchise est un bordel sans nom mais ce début l’assume et tente de s’occuper de tout efficacement.
Sur le principe, ça me fait penser à la mini série récente mettant en scène les ghost riders.

J’ai jamais été fan des GR donc je n’ai pas suivi.
