IDW PUblishing perd les droits d’exploitation de la licence Doctor Who. ce qui explique le départ précipité du scénariste Andy Diggle qui laisse sa place à Tony Lee sur les derniers arcs de la série régulière.
Boom! Studio pourrait récupérer la licence. Surtout que Mark Waid, ex-responsable en chef de l’éditeur, était en passe de s’occuper d’un projet lié au Seigneur du Temps.

Pour fêter les 50 ans de la série télévisée Doctor Who (The Day of the Doctor), ainsi que la fin du contrat d’exploitation de la franchise par l’éditeur IDW Publishing, le scénariste Tony Lee s’est accordé avec Scott Tipton (Doctor Who: Prisonners of Time) pour faire de son dernier arc « Dead Man’s Hand » la digne conclusion de sa première histoire « The Forgotten » (Doctor Who: Les Oubliés, 2008).
