“I walked back to my house, and my friends were all there,” Moffat recalled with mock horror. “And I thought, ‘Well, that’s OK. At least I’m in disguise, they won’t know it’s me.’ And from the other end of the street they looked over and said, ‘Oh, hello, Steven.’ And I thought, ‘Oh, this does not happen to Bruce Wayne!’ So I had to walk over and pretend that I wasn’t Steven, which didn’t work strangely enough. ‘It’s you. It’s your cowboy hat, and your face and that’s you’re voice. And you’re about to walk back to your house.’ Which revealed to me the main problem of superheroes that’s yet to be revealed: How do they get home? How do they do that? Il ne faudra peut-être pas attendre aussi longtemps puisque l’épisode de Noël précédent, Les Maris de River Song, avait été diffusé par France 4 en février.

J’avoue que cela fait presque 4-5 ans que je n’ai pas vu un épisode du Docteur. Depuis la prise de fonction de Capaldi, donc un peu moins sûrement.
J’avais l’habitude de « gros » épisodes de Noël (j’ai toujours celui de la saison 2 ou encore celui avec David Morrissey). Bref, c’était un épisode si attendu qu’il m’était impossible de le louper.
J’ai décroché avec l’arrivée de Capaldi qui n’a pas remplacé Tennant le Docteur adoré et celui que j’ai appris à aimer avec le temps, Matt Smith.
Pourtant, à la lecture du synopsis, il y avait de quoi me lécher les babines avec du super-héros. Et c’est le plouf total.
Premièrement, j’ai beaucoup de mal à avoir de l’empathie pour l’acteur, contre qui je n’ai rien, mais cette façon d’ouvrir les yeux, son timbre de voix ne m’enchantent pas.
Deuxièmement, le scénario tient sur un timbre poste même si je lui accorde quelques traites d’humour (l’origine du Super-Héros notamment). Mais l’histoire n’est plus une Aventure avec un grand A. Et ça me brise le coeur.
Alors j’ai loupé beaucoup d’aventures (je suis même vert d’avoir loupé le nouveau « Maître »), ce n’est pas cette dernière qui va me faire douter. Je pensais que Moffat s’en était allé mais il est encore au scénario.
Un épisode anecdotique, avec une belle photographie mais sans saveur et sans coeur…
C’est vrai qu’il était un peu fade pour un épisode de Noël…
C’était un épisode moyen, sans plus, j’ai trouvé.

Peter Capaldi l’a lui-même confirmé lors d’un entretien sur BBC Radio : après 3 saisons, le 12ème Docteur va laisser les clés du T.A.R.D.I.S. à une nouvelle incarnation. Ce départ coïncide avec celui de Steven Moffatt, showrunner de la série depuis la cinquième saison, qui sera remplacé par Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) à partir de 2018.
La diffusion de la saison 10 débutera sur la BBC en avril. La régénération aura lieu dans le prochain épisode de Noël.
Si ces changements pouvaient donner à la série un rythme de diffusion un peu plus rapide, ce ne serait pas un mal…
