Mad Cave Studios announced the August 2025 release of Eat Your Young, which asks the question, “What happens when a 2,000-year-old immortal decides he’s had enough?”
Edmund Irons, a 2,000-year-old warlord, names his six-year-old daughter, Elsa, as the next Alpha of his immortal clan. But every hundred years, during a brutal 27-day window known as The Centurium, his children have one chance to rip out his heart and claim the throne — or lose their immortality forever. Now, Edmund’s thirty offspring — an iconic cast of genre archetypes like The Cold War Spy, The Serial Killer, The Vigilante, The Punk Rocker, and The Billionaire Futurist — turn on their father and each other in a zero-sum battle for eternal life.
Eat Your Young is written by Brian Buccellato with art by Mattia Monaco.
“Eat Your Young is my kind of chaos—immortal family feuds, bloody betrayals, and a violent journey through the pop culture that raised me,” said writer Brian Buccellato in a press release from Mad Cave Studios. “It’s been incredible collaborating with Mattia again and bringing it all to life with Mad Cave fully behind us.”
Eat Your Young #1 arrives on August 20, 2025.

The Centurium has begun! Thirty immortal heirs, no immortality for the next four weeks, and ONE throne up for grabs. As Edmund Irons reels from the attempt on Elsa’s life, a brutal assault from within the family—led by his most dangerous son, Kerr—shatters the peace. Sides are taken, blood is spilled, and battle lines are drawn across Manhattan. With loyalty in short supply, Edmund and his remaining allies prepare for war.
From BRIAN BUCCELLATO (NO/ONE, Chicken Devils) and MATTIA MONACO (Chicken Devils), issue two plunges deeper into a savage battle for succession where every heir is both a target and a threat.

The blood has barely dried from the Centurium massacre, and the battle for the immortal throne twists into a rescue mission. With Elsa missing and both sides scrambling to find her, the Irons siblings splinter further. Percival steps out of the shadows and makes a bold stand on his own that could reshape the war.
