Dispensable mais sympathique. Amy Chu nous plonge dans le passé, où Emma est encore Reine Blanche du Club des Damnés, qui accueille une réunion du Club à l’étranger et doit composer avec une absence de Shaw et une Tessa piquante. Elle est secondée par une assistante télépathe, rôde entre les invités, et stoppe un Mutant révolutionnaire. Elle dirige difficilement une réunion du Cercle Intérieur, mais les X-Men débarquent et sauvent le jeune Mutant. Emma comprend que « quelqu’un a vendu la mèche » dans le Cercle Intérieur…
C’est agréable pour ce que c’est. Amy Chu lance un scénario basique mais efficace, avec une Emma piquante, « méchante » mais correcte, et propose de bons dialogues. Ca n’apporte pas grand-chose, mais c’est bien mené, avec des dessins clairs, beaux et agréables d’un Andrea DiVito qui demeure l’un de mes favoris.
Une mini-série dispensable mais qui me plaît bien pour ce qu’elle assume de proposer : un bonbon nostalgique sympathique !

Dispensable mais sympathique. Amy Chu montre Emma et son assistante Noor qui se confrontent au cercle intérieur du Hellfire Club après la débâcle avec les X-Men, où elle est accusée d’incompétence et accusatrice pour trouver un traître mystérieux. Elle enquête et va défier le nouveau venu Ismail dans le Hellfire Fight Club, mais fait chou blanc alors que l’on découvre nous que Noor collabore avec Sage.
Ça se lit bien, même si ça reste inoffensif. Emma est bien écrite et isolée, j’aime ses confrontation ms et surtout les très beaux dessins de Andrea Di Vito, au trait fluide et aux jolis personnages.
Fort joli mais fort dispensable en soi.

Sympathique. Amy Chu montre que le Hellfire Club se retourne contre Emma, avec celle-ci en fuite et qui manipule plein de gens pour aller à l’aéroport et s’échapper à Hong Kong. Elle demande une contrepartie à une faveur passée, mais l’allié se retourne contre elle, et elle doit son salut à la mère plus digne de celui-ci. Elle a encore un arrêt à faire avant New York.
C’est simple mais bien. Amy Chu gère bien les pouvoirs d’Emma, avec une utilisation créative de sa télépathie et une bonne fuite. Ça ne révolutionne rien mais c’est efficace, et fort bien dessiné par Andrea Di Vito au style rond, clair et fort joli.
Simple mais joliment bien.

Efficace. Amy Chu acte l’avancée de sa saga, avec Emma qui tente de trouver une alliée chez une autre tenancière d’Hellfire Club, mais elle se fait trahir à la Nouvelle-Orléans. Elle est droguée puis abandonnée dans un désert avec des Sentinelles brisées mais actives qui s’éveillent pour la tuer. Mystique vient la sauver, et l’informe sur une réunion avancée du Inner Circle. Elle agit ainsi car elle méprise Shaw et veut une « vraie Mutante » du côté des Mutants au Club. Emma accepte de collaborer pour reprendre son titre.
C’est efficace, oui. Amy Chu fait bien chuter Emma, bien bas, et l’intervention de Mystique surprend mais fonctionne vu son discours. Cela reste simple mais efficace, avec toujours des dessins élégants, dynamiques et beaux d’Andrea Di Vito.

It’s mutant-on-mutant mayhem when Emma Frost faces off against the rest of the Inner Circle in New York City. How will she manage to reclaim her crown as the White Queen? Expect double crosses, twists and mutant machinations galore as never-before-revealed secrets are laid bare!
Simple et efficace. Amy Chu achève sa saga, avec les membres du Hellfire Club qui font une fête pour acter la nomination d’une nouvelle White Queen, alias Noor, l’ancienne apprentie / assistante d’Emma. Mais celle-ci les surprend avant la validation, avec Mystique qui se révèle comme Harry Leland et Emma qui déballe ses explications. Elle a fait croire qu’il y avait une taupe pour voir qui lui en voudrait après l’attaque des X-Men dans le #1, et elle a pu donc voir qui est loyal ou non. Shaw apparaît par visio, il acte la situation et lance un duel entre Emma & Noor. Elles s’attaquent sur le plan astral et Emma gagne, mais elle laisse Noor partir en supprimant tout souvenir du Hellfire Club en elle. Emma redevient White Queen et veille, alors que Sage semble partir fâchée mais échange mentalement avec Xavier, en espérant pouvoir quitter sa couverture bientôt.
C’est bien, oui. Sans surprise, sans vraie innovation, mais avec une bonne narration, un bon déroulé des événements et une bonne gestion d’Emma. C’est simple mais efficace, avec des dessins clairs et agréables d’Andrea Di Vito, notamment le joli passage sur le plan astral.
Une mini-série inoffensive mais sympathique et bien jolie.
