C’est du Chew dans la forme comme on pouvait s’y attendre, mais aussi dans le fond avec à nouveau une réflexion sur la complexité des liens familiaux au milieu d’une intrigue reposant sur les complots, la manipulation… C’est à se demander quel était le degré d’implication de John Layman dans Chew, surtout que je ne l’ai pas trouvé brillant sur Leviathan (je suis pas allé plus loin que deux numéros, si vous voulez me contredire là-dessus j’en serai ravi !).
Oui oui, Urban a même commencer à sortir certains arcs en librairie. Mais Layman ches les Big Two c’est souvent très premier degré, on croirait même lire un autre auteur si on compare avec Chew.
On a eu pour l’instant deux tomes reprenant son run sur Detective Comics : Empereur Pingouin et Jours de colère. Seuls ses derniers épisodes liés au crossover Gothopia sont encore inédits en librairie chez nous (pour l’instant ?).
Le point de complétiste : John Layman a aussi participé à Batman Eternal !
