Lu la première mini-série en TPB et je ressors convaincu de ma première visite dans ce nouvel univers partagé. J’ai beaucoup aimé la structure du bouquin qui enchevêtre les récits tout en établissant d’emblée la légende du Glowing Man. Si on reste dans du post-apo classique, Geoff Johns (très bien secondé par un Gary Frank inspiré) pose très efficacement les bases de sa saga, avec une bonne caractérisation de ses protagonistes et un mélange réussi d’action (les affrontements sont spectaculaires et nerveux) et d’horreur, qui sait aussi ne pas oublier des touches d’émotion qui touchent juste. Une très bonne lecture donc, qui me donne envie de poursuivre l’aventure…

Y a juste les temporalités des scènes avec le Roi fou qui, parfois, se mêlent sans vraiment fixer la dite temporalité de l’action. Un bord noir ou blanc des pages aurait pu permettre de mieux situer.
J’ai trouvé ça un peu confus malgré le fait que je sois heureux que cet titre t’est plu!
Redcoat est très bien aussi et je suis impatient pour First Ghost surtout avec Gene Ha!
J’ai reparcouru le récit récemment, et j’aime bien cet aspect un peu confus : on est dans une narration imbriquée, en poupée russe, avec quelqu’un qui raconte l’histoire d’un homme légendaire qui lui-même se souvient… etc. Et donc, on n’est plus dans le fait, on est dans la légende. Par conséquent, dans l’impression, dans l’affectif. Et Johns parvient, en mixant les temporalités, à créer une impression plus qu’à raconter un récit. Et ce faisant, il entraîne le lecteur dans ce tourbillon de souvenirs et de sentiments. C’est efficace.
