INFINITY MAN AND THE FOREVER PEOPLE #1-9 (Dan Didio/Giffen)

Four of the best students from New Genesis arrive on Earth to study and aid in the advancement of humanity – but they soon discover a darker purpose to their mission: a threat so great that it may bring the multiverse itself to its knees! The only thing that stands between them and total destruction is the mysterious entity known as the Infinity Man!

Don’t miss the start of this new series by Dan DiDio and Keith Giffen, the team that brought you the over-the-top adventures of O.M.A.C.!
je rebondis sur ce que je constatais. J’ai recensé:
Darkseid dans Justice League
Mister Miracle et Barda, Steppenwolf dans Earth 2
Orion et High-Father dans Wonder Woman
Desaad dans World Finest

There’s a funny story: Keith and I, when we were doing “O.M.A.C.,” he had one story he really wanted to tell, and I really wanted to tell the animals in a zoo story. We never got to do a Dr. Scuba story, so now we finally get to do Dr. Scuba in “Forever People,” because [Giffen] would not let me go ahead with the series without doing Dr. Scuba. We introduce Dr. Scuba’s pool cleaning service in the second issue, and needless to say, things go horribly wrong from there.

So we have fun with Dr. Scuba. We’ve actually worked in a guest appearance of Batcow – don’t ask me how. [Laughs]
INTERVIEW DU SCÉNARISTE DAN DIDIO
Well, there’s a mystery to Infinity Man. There’s a lot of mystery of who the Infinity Man is, what his purpose is, and more importantly, why is this group of individuals the ones that are able to summon him when nobody else is.

Ultimately, what happens to the Forever People is when they change place with the Infinity Man, they black out, so they’re not sure where they’ve been, what happened to them. And there’s part of a mystery as they learn that they’ve exchanged places with this person, and more importantly, are they creating a greater threat to the world, or a greater threat to themselves? And trying to find a way to transverse time and space in order to converse with Infinity Man, to understand his purpose and see if it matches theirs.
