EXCLUSIVE: Marvel to launch ‘Jean Grey’ #1 in November 2026
Jed MacKay and Rogê Antônio will chronicle Jean Grey’s return to Earth in a five-issue limited series that spins out of ‘DNX’.
Given that moviegoers worldwide finally know Sadie Sink plays Jean Grey in the record-breaking Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it was only a matter of time before Marvel announced Phoenix’s return to its X-Men comics. Today, the House of Ideas did just that in the 350th edition of X-Men Monday, AIPT’s weekly X-Men creator interview column, exclusively announcing the launch of a new five-issue Jean Grey limited series. Written by X-Men‘s Jed MacKay and illustrated by Cyclops‘ Rogê Antônio, the title’s first issue goes on sale November 25, 2026, following the conclusion of the X-Men-Fantastic Four event, DNX.

In addition to the Jean Grey limited series, Phoenix will also begin to appear in Jed MacKay’s ongoing X-Men series, which currently features a team led by Jean’s husband, Cyclops.
“I think Jean is really interesting in that she’s a lot like Cyclops—they’re both powerful and iconic personalities in the mutant world, and have to deal with the expectations that others have of who they should be vs. who they really are.” MacKay said in his X-Men Monday interview. “They’re both seen as larger-than-life leaders, and we’ve looked a lot at what that has cost Scott. Now, it’s time to see how Jean will have to push back against or strive to fulfil those expectations, now that she’s back on Earth.”
