Pour fêter les deux ans du New 52, DC dévoile petit à petit les sollicitations de son mois de septembre spécial vilain. En parallèle à la mini-série Forever Evil (et ses tie-ins Rogues, Arkham War et A.R.G.U.S.), l’éditeur remplace la totalité de ses séries par des one-shots consacrés aux super-vilains. Chaque numéro bénéficie d’un nouveau système de couverture 3D « motion » et d’une numérotation « .1 »; procédé utilisé par Marvel pour distinguer sa production habituelle des numéros spéciaux.
Contrairement aux autres séries, le Batman de Scott Snyder et Greg Capullo semble avoir quatre one-shots dérivés à l’occasion du mois spécial vilain.
Le premier, consacré aux débuts du Joker, est scénarisé par Andy Kubert. Aucune information sur le dessinateur pour le moment.
