C’est tout à fait ça. Et si je lis l’arc en entier, c’est encore la curiosité de voir comment Prometha va y être utilisée. Parce que, comme je l’ai dit, Steve Orlando ne fait pas d’étincelles sur ce que j’ai lu, et il ne donne pas envie de lire les numéros qui précèdent le 22.

D’un autre côté, c’est toujours un peu la même chanson. Soit ce que j’apprends d’une série me motive (comme ici) et si affinités je suis capable de lire la série dans sa totalité. Soit j’en aime le scénariste, comme pour Priest, dont je vais lire les numéros qu’il a écrit sur l’autre Justice League.
Soit je désire découvrir quelqu’un dont je ne connais pas le travail. Par exemple John Semper Jr. sur Cyborg (une série à découvrir).

Tout ça pour dire que je ne lis aucune série pour elle seule, ou pour son personnage principal.

Dieu merci, c’est fini.

J’avoue avoir trouvé cet aspect eighties insupportable. Tous ces combats dans tous les sens… c’était pénible.

Surtout, ce qu’on peut reprocher à Orlando, c’est d’avoir de bonnes idées (la ville sous la coupe d’un vilain qui fait fabriquer des armes aux habitants, c’est intéressant) avec un fort potentiel, et de ne jamais rien en faire. C’est un festival d’occasions manquées, cette série, même si on sent sa volonté de développer une dynamique nouvelle (les rapports entre Lobo et Ray sont pas mal du tout). Et puis, il n’est pas aidé question dessin.

Mais je pensais la série comme un fil conducteur Rebirth -son argument de vente premier - et sauf sur un arc relatif au Microverse, on ne peut pas dire que l’on eut de quoi manger.

L’idée du premier arc jouant sur le Multivers m’a plu. On retrouve Havok en fin de run, c’est cohérent. Mais entre deux, c’est pas gégé quand même.

Il a essayé.

Oui, à chaque fois qu’un nouveau récit débutait, j’étais curieux, je trouvais qu’il y avait des choses à exploiter, mais en fait, rien. C’est un peu un gros soufflé qui retombe.

En tant que fan d’Atom, j’ai apprécié la saga dessus en la relisant d’un bloc (car à la lecture à chaque sortie, quelle frustration), et je trouve ce final plutôt rigolo ; mais, clairement, la série est mal fagotée, avec une narration mal gérée, et un principe de base rapidement oublié (une équipe plus proche du peuple, pour le peuple ; sauf que, en fait, ça parle Multivers et Microvers…).
