Bouh, ce n’est pas mauvais, mais pas bon non plus, et c’est déjà vu. Saladin Ahmed montre qu’il a bien lu les Avengers où Vision devient un contrôleur despotique, avec donc Red Tornado qui, en semblant se reconstruire, multiplie les calculs en se projetant sur des catastrophes déclenchées par une Justice League plus grande et forte. Et il décide de convoquer sous code rouge des personnes spécifiques, afin de mener des actions ciblées pour limiter le pire. Power Girl et Simon Baz sont envoyés dans l’espace pour stopper une guerre civile et un gros robot, mais… il semblait juste être rempli de graines et de nourriture. Simon et PG ne comprennent pas, alors que Black Adam observe cela et va préparer son propre coup face à Red Tornado.
Bon, ça se lit mais ça n’est pas emballant. Surtout que l’androïde qui veut trop bien faire s’enferme dans des actes inacceptables, c’est un lieu commun et d’autres comics l’ont mieux fait. Clayton Henry propose des planches correctes et jolies.
Correctement fait (hormis cette image dégueulasse de Red Tornado ouvert), mais mieux fait déjà ailleurs.
Je crains que DC soit dans un état d’esprit de multiplier les spin-off à défaut de séries autonomes (Metamorpho ne fait mentir). En l’occurrence, au détriment de la qualité du titre (oui, je veux le retour d’Hawkman!).
Justice League Red #2

Red Tornado conscripts Cyborg, but after his first mission, Vic, Green Lantern, and Power Girl aren’t ready to team up unless it’s to shut Reddy down. But RT can’t let anyone step out of line — to stop the future his analyses predict, he’s willing to leverage the one bargaining chip heroes can’t ignore.
Pas formidable mais fait correctement. Saladin Ahmed avance sa saga et augmente son casting, avec Cyborg qui vole un engin que Red Tornado lui avait dit avoir été volé et stocké dans un office gouvernemental asiatique, mais Victor découvre que l’engin leur appartenait bien. Il vient demander des comptes à la Red Tower, où PG et Simon le font déjà, et Red Tornado explique que le vol va aider à affiner ses calculs sur les algorythmes apocalyptiques. Il y a des doutes, mais il révèle que Red Canary a été enlevée par la Church of Blood et il faut la sauver. Simon et Victor y vont, alors que Red Tornado montre à PG un mur où ses parents l’appellent, elle, ce qui devrait l’aider à comprendre ce qu’il fait…
Bon, c’est correct. Ce n’est pas enthousiasmant, et ce Red Tornado qui manipule pour le bien mais le fait mal, ça a été vu vingt fois. Il n’empêche que le premier tiers avec Cyborg est bien écrit, je suis content de revoir Red Canary, et les dessins de Clayton Henry sont bons.
Mineur, déjà-vu mais correct.
Justice League Red #3

Cyborg, Green Lantern Simon Baz, and Power Girl have no choice but to trust Red Tornado a little longer: he’s the only one who knows how to find Red Canary, who’s about to be sacrificed to the Church of Blood! Is Sienna a red herring or another pawn in RT’s game? All this, plus Deadman makes his first apparition! Why does the ghost in the Justice League’s machines need a ghost?
Pas emballant, pas foufou, mais pas mauvais ; correct, mais dispensable. Saladin Ahmed continue tout doucement sa saga, avec donc Cyborg & Simon Baz qui attaquent ce qui semble être la Church of Blood pour libérer Red Canary, avec finalement la révélation qu’il s’agit du Tabernacle of Blood (ah), dirigé par Father Blood qui rejette Trigon mais veut dominer les démons. Red Canary libère une étonnante énergie du Red, et est ramenée par Victor & Simon au QG de la JL Red. Ils y retrouvent Power Girl qui a exigé des explications à Red Tornado, qui indique avoir réussi à créer un lien avec ses parents via Deadman, et pour faire « un acte humain » pour confirmer qu’il a encore de l’humanité. Et l’équipe semble le comprendre, mais il révèle alors que la grande mission à mener est… de tuer Black Adam, pour empêcher Apokolips sur Terre !
Ça se lit, c’est déjà ça. Saladin Ahmed déroule une intrigue basique, pas surprenante, pas mauvaise, pas exceptionnelle, mais pas emballante, mais pas ennuyeuse. Une intrigue qui se lit, qui se suit sans déplaisir, avec des dessins classiques et efficaces de Clayton Henry.
Anodin, mineur, mais pas désagréable.
SHOWDOWN ON THE RED TOWER!
The confrontation with Red Tornado can wait no longer: Cyborg, Power Girl, Green Lantern Simon Baz, and Red Canary have taken part in one too many missions where they didn’t have all the facts. But Reddy’s wound up too: his sacrifices have paid off, and he knows the variable that needs to be eliminated to save Earth from being remade in the image of Apokolips. But there isn’t enough computing power in the galaxy to predict what will happen when JLR goes after Black Adam!
