Ce que j’aime, c’est qu’ils ont bien cerné le personnage: c’est pas un anti-héros, ni un vilain, c’est l’avarice incarnée, et surtout, un parfait abruti. Et je passe un super moment en lisant ça. Mention spéciale à son majordome/sidekick.

Je suis en train de me relire l’ensemble de la série (je reviendrai en causer).
C’est crétin, c’est drôle, c’est speed, c’est stupide, c’est hilarant, c’est vachement bien dialogué… et bien entendu, ça s’arrête.
Non mais je vous jure, les gens ont vraiment de ces goûts…

J’ai lu récemment le deuxième (et dernier) TPB, et c’est toujours aussi bien.
Larfleeze est confronté à une famille dysfonctionnelle de dieux, venus d’une autre dimension qu’ils ont mise à sac à force d’engueulades. L’avarice incarnée va déployer tellement d’efforts pour leur dérober ce qui leur appartient et qu’il pense être à lui qu’ils vont reconsidérer l’option et songer à rentrer chez eux, même si le chez-eux n’existe plus.
C’est marrant, c’est rythmé, Pulsar Stargrave a des dialogues savoureux, la planète de robots est assez habilement traitée, l’arrivée de G’Nort, même s’il est dans un registre un poil moins crétin que d’ordinaire, est formidable, bref, ça se lit d’une traite.
C’est d’ailleurs un truc étonnant, ça : c’est hyper dialogué (un peu moins que leurs Justice League, mais pas loin…), et pourtant ça se lit vite et bien, justement parce qu’ils ont le sens du rythme, de l’échange, de la répartie qui va bien. Une vraie leçon d’écriture pour tous les scénaristes qui affectionnent les grosses bulles de monologue.
Vraiment, un arrêt de série immérité. Mais ça constitue une chouette mini-série de douze épisodes, à lire indépendamment du reste. Recommandé.

En rangeant je suis retombé sur les deux tpb. J’avais gardé un bon souvenir de ce run sans être capable de me rappeler l’histoire. Donc je m’y recolle. Larfleeze, personnage qui paie pas de mine de prime abord, qui sous la plume de Giffen et DeMatteis l’avatar de l’avarice montre toutes ses qualités ( bêtise, radinerie…). Les auteurs comme à leurs habitudes mêlent humour et action avec brio. La relation Larfleeze/Stargrave son valet est très bonne et drôle.
Une des rares bonne surprise durant le new 52
