L’éditeur Dark Horse à confié la mise en œuvre d’une nouvelle suite au célèbre manga Lone Wolf & Cub de Kazuo Koike (qui inspira même Frank Miller avec Ronin) au scénariste Eric Heisserer et aux dessinateurs Miguel Sepulveda et David Gomez.
Suivant directement les évènements de la première mini-série post-apocalyptique Lone Wolf 2100, publiée en 2002, l’histoire raconte le périple de l’androïde Ogami Itto et de sa protégée, l’orpheline Daisy, dernier espoir de l’humanité pour endiguer le virus qui a transformé un tiers de la population en monstrueux Thralls.
Le premier numéro sur les quatre prévus sort au début de l’année 2016.

Je ne dirai jamais assez de bien de Lone Wolf & Cub, mais, soyons clair, il suffit de regarder les deux illustrations présentées ici pour se rendre compte que cette suite n’aura rien à voir avec l’original. D’ailleurs, la première « suite », parue en 2002 et que je n’ai pas lue, n’était pas une grande réussite, d’après ce que j’ai compris.
