MARVEL #1-2 (Alex Ross, collectif)

Ah, Brereton.

Tom Brevoort :

« The Marvel anthology that Alex Ross is curating is a cornucopia of tales spread across the whole of the Marvel Universe as visualized by some of the best artists and creators in the field. This series is very much an artist’s showcase, with Alex bringing his discerning eye to the choice of collaborators, recruiting his favorite practitioners of the art to go to town on some of their mutual favorite characters. It’s going to be a blast for the eyes! »

Alex Ross :

“This book, which is simply called Marvel , is a collection of short stories by unique and exceptional talents, including some who don’t normally work with Marvel characters,"

MARVEL #1 (OF 6)

  • ALEX ROSS, KURT BUSIEK, STEVE DARNALL & SAJAN SAINI (W)
  • ALEX ROSS, STEVE RUDE & FRANK ESPINOSA (A)
  • Cover by ALEX ROSS
  • VARIANT COVER BY STEVE RUDE
  • Thirty years ago, Alex Ross had a vision of a new series showing the Marvel heroes in a way they’d never been seen before. The first realization of that idea became the blockbuster MARVELS — but today Alex finally brings about his original vision: An anthology of stories by unique, exceptional talents, many of whom are doing Marvel characters for the very first time. Over this showcase series you’ll see work by such artists as Adam Hughes, Bill Sienkiewicz, Dan Brereton and more, linked together by an overarching story by Alex and Steve Darnall.
  • This inaugural issue kicks it all off with superstar artists Frank Espinosa (Rocketo, Looney Tunes) telling an unusual Spider-Man story and Steve Rude (Nexus), teaming up with Kurt Busiek (Marvels, Avengers) for an Avengers story, framed by Alex and Steve Darnall (Uncle Sam, Marvels) presenting a tale of the dread dreamland Nightmare, and his threat to the entire Marvel Universe…and possibly beyond.
  • A once-in-a-lifetime assemblage of talent — you won’t want to miss a single page!
  • 40 PGS./Rated T …$4.99

Ah pardon.

Tout cela a l’air vachement chouette.

Jim

ça me semble bien dense.

Another artist extravaganza overseen by the master; Alex Ross! In this issue, the X–Men old and new grapple with the swelling of their ranks in a story by Dan Brereton, the Thing, Spider–Man and Doctor Doom contend for the most coveted object on the planet in a tale by Eric Powell, and the Vision pushes himself to the limit in order to save a life in an adventure by Paolo Rivera! All wrapped in a framing sequence painted by Alex and scripted by Steve Darnall!
