NEW 52: FUTURES END #0-48 (Lemire,Azzarello,Giffen,Jurgens)

Really, what we’re trying to do with this book is to explore the nature of what a hero is and we’re doing that, obviously by playing with the future of the New 52 timeline. Past present and future all colliding in this story line.

That means exploring the past with a character like Frankenstein, the present with Firestorm and the future with Batman Beyond who is, Lemire said, making what is his first "in-continuity appearance. He’ll become part of the New 52.

As the stories progress, readers will discover there are dozens of characters involved in « Futures End, » so it’s hard to pick one scene. Maybe the Grifter scene in #1 – that came together really well. But there’s a lot of bang and a lot of surprises. I’m going to have fun reading reader’s speculations.

And as far as designs go, many of them are being done by Ryan Sook. It’s allowing the interior artists to work more smoothly, working from the same design while drawing issues simultaneously.

I will admit that my general reaction to any suggestion is, let’s destroy it. I’ve got certain things I’m constantly harping on.

And you should be glad I don’t get my way. If I had my way, everybody who was a duplicate in the DC Universe would be gone. One Batman. One Bat — the girl, the boy? Gone. Everyone with « super » in their name except Superman? Gone.

So yeah, I do tend to reach for the TNT much more than the other guys do. Yeah.
