NIGHT FEVER (Ed Brubaker / Sean Phillips)

Les inséparables Ed Brubaker et Sean Phillips annoncent un nouveau projet pour 2023 intitulé Night Fever.

There has been no bigger duo in contemporary noir comics than Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, who have worked together for over two decades on projects such as Criminal, Fatale, and The Fade Out. Over the past few years, the pair has pivoted away from ongoing serialized comics and towards the graphic novel form with Pulp, Cruel Summer, and My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies.

Now, Image has just announced their next project—an original graphic novel titled Night Fever. According to Image’s press release, « Night Fever is a pulse-pounding noir thriller featuring the Jekyll-and-Hyde story of a man facing the darkness inside himself. This riveting tour-of-the-night is a must -have for all Brubaker and Phillips readers. »

About the project: « Night Fever is a story that’s been scratching at the back of my skull for a long time now and man, is this a weird one, » says Brubaker. « Inspired partly by old Black Lizard noir novels and weird and sexy European comics from the '70s, this book is a dark trip into what being alive right now feels like, but hopefully a thrilling one for our readers, too. I know it’s the best art of Sean’s entire career, which feels almost unbelievable. But it’s true. »

Brubaker and Phillips will be joined by colorist Jacob Phillips, who has also colored other recent Brubaker/Phillips projects such as Pulp, Cruel Summer, and My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies, as well as served as artist on his own Image series with Chris Condon, That Texas Blood.

Night Fever will be available for purchase June 14, 2023 from your local comic shops, and will hit bookstores and online retailers on June 20, 2023. The comic will be available in both physical and digital formats.

Image Comics is pleased to reveal a stunning new cover by Sean Phillips for the highly anticipated Night Fever by multiple Eisner Award winning duo Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips (Reckless, Pulp, Criminal, and Kill or Be Killed) with colors by Jacob Phillips (That Texas Blood). This original graphic novel will hit shelves in June from Image Comics
