Dans ma découverte de l’actuelle série Nova, j’arrive à la période de Gerry Dugan.
Bon, je ne connais pas ce scénariste. J’ai vu qu’il avait écrit du Deadpool, mais comme je ne lis pas Deadpool, je ne sais rien de son travail. À ma connaissance, c’est ma première rencontre avec son boulot.
Je suis plutôt satisfait, pour l’instant. Les situations sont marrantes, évoluent un peu par rapport à ce que Loeb a posé et Wells entériné, il propose même des petits gags récurrents (l’observateur d’OVNI). C’est bien troussé, le héros reste sympathique, donc ça a l’air de rouler.
Ses deux premiers épisodes (et demi) lancent différents trucs, qui pour l’heure sont à l’état de sub-plots. C’est d’ailleurs un peu déstabilisant : à la fin de son récit court dans le « centième » épisode, il annonce un gros truc. Qui n’est en définitif qu’un petit truc, permettant d’embrayer sur une nouvelle mission. à la fin de son premier épisode, il annonce un gros vilain. Que le héros rencontre dès les premières pages du chapitre suivant, mais il n’y a pas de grosse baston, encore moins de résolution. Au contraire, l’épisode est consacré à un sauvetage qui, pour le compte, amorcera une autre saga.
Alors c’est un peu déstabilisant, donnant l’impression qu’on nous appâte sur des promesses pas ou peu tenues, mais c’est dans le même temps porteur de choses intéressantes. Ça semble surtout indiquer que Duggan semble « parti pour rester », comme on dit, et installe des choses sur le long terme. On peut imaginer que certains personnages vont revenir à plus ou moins long terme, et qu’il ne faut pas se fier aux habitudes de rythme d’écriture.
Bref, je vais continuer la lecture de cette série, qui est bien rafraîchissante.

Au vu de certaines covers on peut se dire que les artistes ne lisent pas les bd car nova parait toujours adulte malgré que le design du costume soit le bon (c’est déjà ça me dira t’on)
par contre est ce prévus en vf ?
C’est en cours de publication en VF.
Je vais surement me jeter sur l’album qui sort en novembre du coup
