ODIN #1-3 (James Tynion IV, Marguerite Bennett / Letizia Cadonici)

James Tynion IV takes on white supremacy and Norse gods in brutal new 9-part horror, ‘Odin’

A journalist infiltrates a Neo-Nazi cult in the frozen forests of Norway, only to discover something ancient, merciless, and far beyond their control waiting in the dark.

Five-time Eisner Award winner James Tynion IV is heading back into the dark.

The writer behind The Department of Truth, Something is Killing the Children, and Exquisite Corpses is joining forces with co-writer Marguerite Bennett for Odin, a nine-issue horror miniseries arriving in May from Image Comics and Tiny Onion. They are joined by artist Letizia Cadonici, colorist Jordie Bellaire, letterer Tom Napolitano, designer Dylan Todd, and editor Steve Foxe.

The series was first revealed at The Hollywood Reporter and promises a brutal descent into Nordic terror.

Odin follows Adela, a journalist chasing the ultimate story. She embeds herself with a group of Neo-Nazis who retreat to the frozen forests of Norway, convinced they will find divine validation for their beliefs. What they encounter instead is something ancient and merciless. The story blends the claustrophobic menace of Green Room with the folkloric unease of Midsommar and the wilderness dread of The Ritual.

Tynion said the idea began with a conversation between him and Bennett about extremists invoking Norse mythology online. The writers started asking what the mythic Odin would truly make of such followers. That question grew into a harsh and unforgiving horror story they felt compelled to tell together.

Bennett described the book as relentless and suffocating, designed to unsettle readers and drag them through a landscape of dread and spiritual terror.

Cadonici praised the collaboration, calling the script vivid and character-driven. She said each figure in the story has a distinct personality and that bringing them to life has been an intense and rewarding experience.

The series will feature main covers by Alex Eckman-Lawn across all nine issues. The debut issue also includes variants by Cadonici, Christian Ward, Martin Simmonds, and Jae Lee.

Odin expands Tiny Onion’s growing publishing slate. Recent announcements include feature adaptations of Exquisite Corpses and the short film Room Service, as well as Blumhouse’s option of Something is Killing the Children for film and animation. Additional projects in development include W0rldtr33 at Netflix, an adaptation of The Woods, and an original adult animated comedy created with Irony Point and Tipsy Dragon.

Odin #1 arrives in May.

Lu. Ça me tombe des mains. J’ai du mal à comprendre ce qu’il se passe parfois dans certaines cases, les dialogues sont ampoulés. Encore un titre qui va se « comprendre » en album mais là, comme introduction, ce n’est pas très généreux.
