Ayant un trou dans son emploi du temps depuis la conclusion des séries Conan The Barbarian et Star Wars, le scénariste Brian Wood proposera, chez Dark Horse, la série Rebels en collaboration avec le dessinateur Andrea Mutti et la coloriste Jordie Bellaire.
Cette nouvelle série régulière suivra le quotidien d’une poignée de soldats pendant la Guerre d’indépendance des États-Unis qui opposa les treize colonies d’Amérique du Nord au Royaume de Grande-Bretagne entre 1775 et 1783. D’après le scénariste, la série aura aussi pour vocation d’éduquer les jeunes lecteurs contrairement à Northlanders qui leur était interdit en raison des nombreuses scènes de violence.
Le premier numéro de Rebels sortira en avril 2015.
