Ayant refusé deux fois le projet, le scénariste Joshua Williamson (Ghosted, Captain Midnight) a finalement accepté la proposition d’écrire une série Robocop pour le compte de l’éditeur Boom! Studio, avec la collaboration du dessinateur Carlos Magno (Deathmatch). Il a cependant posé ses conditions: d’abord, son histoire sera une suite directe au premier film de 1987 (seul digne d’intérêt d’après lui) et retournera aux racines de la franchise violente et burnée.
En pleine chasse aux porte-flingues, Robocop et l’agent Lewis font la rencontre de Killian, un truand qui aspire à ramener le chaos dans les rues de Chicago et qui voit en Alex Murphy un défi de taille.
Robocop #1 sortira en juillet avec trois couvertures illustrées par Carlos Magno, Goñi Montes et Alexis Zirrit:
