Dispensable, faible graphiquement mais divertissant dans le bourrin et le gore. Frank Tieri, vieux routier des comics et notamment ceux de ce genre, livre un début basique mais efficace pour ce que c’est. On voit ainsi Logan cuver dans un vieux bar de New York, faire partir un influenceur relou puis découvrir via un inconnu bavard l’histoire de Mad Dog Murphy au début du XXe siècle à Ravencroft. Victor Creed était en effet employé de Ravencroft à l’époque, où il ramenait des patients prisonniers à Essex pour des expériences. Victor est hanté par sa première défaite récente contre Logan, vit mal les ordres de Nathaniel et se fait happer par le patient Fyskov, criminel qui se fait appeler Fisk maintenant et le convainc de le faire libérer pour reprendre la pègre locale. Victor se fait appeler Mad Dog Murphy, s’échappe avec Fisk et devient un homme de main sanglant.
C’est dispensable mais efficace pour ce que c’est. Frank Tieri utilise des éléments classiques, gère bien les personnalités et révèle un énième chapitre secret des vies de Wolverine et Creed. Ça n’apporte rien mais ça fonctionne, malgré des dessins limités de Michael Sta. Maria, qui cependant gère bien le gore.
Bourrin, gore, un peu limité graphiquement mais divertissant.

With names like the Frankengang, the Spirits of '76 and the Nightshifters, the gangs of 1900s NYC are as varied and colorful as they are deadly. But the question is…are they as deadly as the new gangster in town, Mad Dog Murphy (better known to us as Sabretooth)? And maybe the bigger question…are any of them as deadly as the even-newer player in the New York underworld…the man-eating crocodilian? Find out as the streets of the Five Points run red with gang blood!

Bourrin, vaguement divertissant, mais un peu vain. Frank Tieri poursuit la plongée dans les souvenirs du vieux New York du début du XXe siècle. On découvre que, en parallèle des gangs classiques des Five Points, ce New York avait des gangs de « supers » : des masqués, le Frankengang, des magiciens, des super-scientifiques, etc. Tous sont cependant mis au pan par Mad Dog Murphy, alias Victor Creed, utilisé violemment mais efficacement par ce Fisk que tous surnomment le Jardinier, pour son goût pour les plantes. Ils sont attaqués par un homme reptilien, qu’ils battent, mais Fisk craint que les gangs s’allient… et c’est le cas, car ceux-ci engagent désormais Dragonfire, une guerrière de K’Un-Lun.
Bon, c’est bourrin, hein. Frank Tieri étend clairement une intrigue qui n’a pas besoin d’autant de pages, et ça se sent. Ca reste néanmoins un peu divertissant, fort bourrin et réjouissant dans la violence, avec un Michael Sta. Maria correct sur les dessins et la brutalité. M’enfin.
Sans grand intérêt, sans grand défaut, et bien bourrin.
