Malgré la défection de Brian Wood sur la série régulière Spawn, Todd MacFarlane poursuit les annonces concernant son héros phare.
Lors de l’Expo Image qui se tiendra le 8 janvier prochain, l’auteur lèvera le voile sur une mini-série en huit numéros dont il déclare que tout les numéros ont été finalisés.

Ça m’étonnerait. Sachant que Todd MacFarlane est celui qui s’est opposé le plus fermement à la finalisation du projet (notamment à cause de l’utilisation du démon Al Simmons qui lui a fortement déplus), je crois qu’on peut dire que Image United est mort et enterré.
Pas une mauvaise chose. Projet bancal, par son fond (réunir des univers intrinsèquement séparés, malgré l’envie de départ) et par sa forme (quelle idée stupide de vouloir que chacun dessine toujours son personnage).
Je n’ai pas besoin/envie de me dire que Invincible ou Savage Dragon vivent dans le même monde que Spawn. L’univers partagé d’Image Comics, qui comprendrait les univers de tous les fondateurs, n’a pas d’intérêt.

Profitant de l’Expo Image Comics où il vient d’annoncer l’arrivée de Paul Jenkins sur la série Spawn, Todd MacFarlane lève le voile sur la nouvelle série Savior sur laquelle il travaille avec son collaborateur régulier, le scénariste Brian Holguin, et le dessinateur Clayton Crain (Rai). Comme annoncé précédemment, les huit premiers numéros ont déjà été bouclés.
Aucune date de sortie n’a été communiquée pour le moment.
