A partir de mai, le titre Spider-Man 2099 sera remplacé par Secret Wars 2099 sous l’impulsion de l’évènement éponyme. Cependant, le scénariste Peter David tient à préciser qu’outre le fait qu’elle se déroule sur Battleworld, la série sera auto-contenue. Elle présentera les Vengeurs de l’ère 2099 travaillant sous le joug de la méga-corporation maléfique Alchemax.
David ne sera pas le seul à faire le déménagement puisqu’il retrouvera son partenaire Will Sliney qui assurera la partie graphique.
Pour le moment, l’auteur ne préfère faire aucun commentaire concernant la durée de la série.

J’ai lu les deux premiers numéros, et il me semble que pour l’un des personnages Peter David s’inspire de l’excellente série télé ***Mon meilleur ennemi *** ; côté dessin c’est raide, très froid (les protagonistes ne montrent aucune émotion), et côté scénario il un peu tôt pour que je me prononce hormis que ça ne sort pas du lot pour l’instant (mais Peter David est plutôt un scénariste au long cours).
