Près de trois ans après la publication de Serenity : Leaves on the Wind, Mal et ses contrebandiers feront leur retour à bord du Serenity dans une nouvelle mini-série en 6 numéros scénarisée cette fois-ci par Chris Roberson (Edison Rex, B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth) mais toujours illustrée par Georges Jeanty.
Le titre No Power in the 'Verse fait référence à l’une des célèbres citations proférées par River Tam (Summer Glau) dans la série Firefly : « … No power in the ‘verse can stop me. »
