Dans le soucis de se faire remarquer sur un marché saturé, le scénariste Jim Zub et le dessinateur Edwin Huang ont décidés d’utiliser les mêmes ruses que les « Big Two » comme la renumérotation massive (tous les mois) ou les changements de titres pompeux, sans perdre l’humour qui fait la spécificité des deux compères.
Depuis début février, les deux créateurs de Skullkickers ont pastiché les titres Savage Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men, Mighty Thor, All-New X-Men et Secret Avengers de l’éditeur Marvel Comics.
