Marvel’s Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1 swings into comic shops on Wednesday, and you can check out the official preview of the issue below…
TRAPPED IN THE 616… FOR GOOD! Welcome to New York! Gwen truly becomes a Ghost-Spider when she moves full time to the universe where Gwen Stacy died years ago. But why did she leave Earth-65? Why aren’t the other spiders supposed to know she ’s here? Why isn’t she supposed to suit up? And who will get hurt when she does?

Pas mal. Stephanie Phillips fait atterrir Spider-Gwen sur la Terre-616, pour des raisons encore inconnues (en tout cas de moi). Le TVA l’a placée ici comme dans un programme de protection des témoins, mais son contact Orouboros (« O.B ») est clair : pas de costume, pas d’identité de Gwen. Mais elle a du mal, notamment en agissant malgré tout pour stopper un vol de banque. Un petit savon est passé, les autres Spiders savent qu’elle est là. Elle cède et reprend le costume, tente d’arrêter un carambolage, se fait attaquer par Kraven sur le fameux pont et s’enfonce dans l’eau, inconsciente. Des bras inconnus l’aide, alors que Black Tarantula se prépare à l’affronter.
Pas mal, oui. Stephanie Phillips livre un bon début, avec une Gwen paumée et attachante, un mystère sur sa présence et une dynamique globale efficace. Ce n’est pas ultra emballant, mais ça fonctionne et je trouve que c’est une bonne idée de l’amener ainsi sur la Terre-616, ça peut le faire et les dessins de Federica Mancin sont solides à défaut de briller.
Un début correct pour une bonne idée.
