J’ai lu les six premiers épisodes et j’ai beaucoup aimé. Comme Marvel l’avait déjà fait il y a quelques années, cette série raconte la dernière année de la mission de cinq ans de l’Enterprise. Ils ont exploré de nouveaux mondes étranges, ils ont découvert de nouvelles vies, d’autres civilisations, ils ont avancé vers l’inconnu au mépris du danger…mais pour certains, le plus dur est parfois de devoir rentrer à la maison…
La série Star Trek : Year Five est bien construite et bien répartie entre chaque équipe créative…des arcs narratifs courts (pas plus de deux parties), un fil rouge, une bonne caractérisation qui sait utiliser efficacement la continuité (comme la réaction de Kirk à sa promotion en tant qu’amiral et au fait qu’il devra rester derrière un bureau quand il reviendra sur Terre) et de bons dessins qui nous donnent des visages ressemblants en évitant heureusement le « photo-réalisme » figé à la Salvador Larroca sur Star Wars.
Dans ces six chapitres, il y a de nouvelles menaces, des retours sur des planètes déjà visitées (on voit comment a évolué Sigma Iota II, la planète « Chicago des années 20 » depuis la dernière visite de Kirk, Spock et McCoy) et un ton qui rappelle savoureusement la série classique. Et c’est très bon !
