  • Two members of Task Force X are back in these all-new adventures! First up: “REVENGE OF KOBRA” by writer Mike W. Barr and artist Philippe Briones. To oppose the terrorist Kobra is to earn his un-dying hatred, and that’s what the samurai Katana did when she killed his beloved Eve. Now Kobra stalks Katana beyond the bounds of the Earth itself, to a supernatural world where he will steal from her everything that she has—including her very soul!
  • And in “SUICIDE SQUAD BLACK,” by writer Jai Nitz and artist Scot Eaton, Sebastian Faust, the U.S. government’s top arcane operative, has gone rogue! To track down America’s most dangerous magician, Amanda Waller assembles a special-ops team unlike any other: an expendable coven of dark-arts experts including El Diablo, Enchantress and Gentleman Ghost. They are Suicide Squad Black, and they will take you to places where even the dead can die!

In part four of “Revenge of Kobra,” Katana finally escapes the deadly dimension of the Soultaker, only to find herself trapped in the body of Lady Eve! Now she must save Halo and the Suicide Squad from King Kobra and his wife, the impostor Katana-—even though the Squad and Halo see her as a mortal enemy!

Also in this issue, the heist on Gemworld got the entire Suicide Squad Black team killed. With her new squad dead, Amanda Waller is out of magic bullets. Things go from bad to worse when Waller sends the regular Suicide Squad to catch Sebastian Faust. Can their technology possibly stand a chance against a foe whom magic couldn’t defeat?

Suicide Squad Black Files #5

Suicide Squad Black Files #5 hits your local comic book store on March 6, but thanks to DC Comics, Monkeys Fighting Robots has an exclusive five-page preview for you.

The book is written by Mike W. Barr, with art by Philippe Briones, colors by Gabe Eltaeb, with Dave Sharpe’s letters. Will Conrad and Pete Pantazi worked on the cover.

About the issue:
Katana’s spirit is still trapped in the body of the evil Eve—and now she must combat the schemes of Kobra with the Suicide Squad and Halo in hot pursuit! But will Halo recognize the real Katana in time? Plus, back from the dead and behind the eight ball, the magic users of Suicide Squad Black return to Earth, and the situation is worse than ever before. Sebastian Faust is on the cusp of eliminating all magic and has possessed Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and Killer Croc to do his bidding. Waller has to pull out all the stops to save the world and avoid losing both her teams. Not everyone will make it out alive.
