En septembre, le scénariste Steve Orlando (Midnighter) et le dessinateur Brian Ching relanceront Supergirl, la jeune cousine de Superman qui est actuellement la tête d’affiche de sa propre série télévisée.
Le premier arc s’intitule le « Superman Cyborg » et verra Kara faire face une fois de plus à son père Zor-El, transformé en cyborg. Le problème, c’est qu’il lui propose de revenir sur… Krypton !
Brian Ching, c’est un des sous-clones de Silvestri que j’aime bien, voire beaucoup. Il m’a plu voire enchanté sur plein de séries Star Wars, où il sait allier la grosse case de baston et la petite case de grimace. Je trouve que c’est plutôt un bon choix.
Le peu de pages que j’ai vu de la série Conan The Avenger était très surprenant. Plus que ce que je vois ci-dessus d’ailleurs. Un encrage trop net lui fait perdre la souplesse et l’élégance de son trait j’ai l’impression. Alors que si on le laisse libre, ça donne un joli compromis entre Canete et Silvestri.

Ah le premier épisode est sympa. Ça replace tout sur l’échiquier, Cat Grant, Cameron Chase (elle, je suis super content de la revoir), ça met en scène les pouvoirs de manière novatrice, ça met en place l’identité secrète (un mélange de la vieille version Mooney et de la version Infantino), bref, belle entrée en matière.
Graphiquement, c’est super chouette : très cartoony, avec un encrage nerveux qui m’évoque le Silvestri encré par Green, mais aussi Eric Canete, que l’œil de lynx de Jack avait déjà repéré. Vraiment très agréable à l’œil.
Reste que moi, j’ai lâché Supergirl avec l’arrêt de la série précédente. Et si je ne me trompe pas, elle perdait ses pouvoirs, non ? Y a des histoires qui font raccord entre les deux séries ? Des choses sont expliquées quelque part ? Dans la série ouaibe ? Ailleurs ?
Le numéro d’intro « Rebirth » m’avait un peu laissé sur ma faim, mais le n°1 m’a plus séduit. Je ne classerais pas ça dans mes séries préférées du moment, a priori, mais c’est plein de bonnes idées.
