SUPERGIRL #21-36 (Marc Andreyko / Maguire, Pansica)

J’étais très réticent à renter Supergirl, d’une part parce qu’un titre qui surfe sur le médiocre Man of Steel de Bendis ne donne pas confiance, de l’autre parce que Marc Andreyko a été minable sur la dernière chose que j’ai lue de lui (Hawkman/Adam Strange, ou l’inverse).
Et pourtant ; et pourtant, ces deux premiers numéros sont excellents.
Andreyko a l’intelligence de bien baliser sa série, et de justifier intelligemment le voyage de Kara dans l’espace. Le rappel, bienvenu, qu’elle n’est pas comme son cousin, qu’elle est avant Kryptonienne avec bien des souvenirs de son monde, légitime clairement sa douleur, et ce deuil qui explose, avec cette fureur pour savoir qui est à l’origine de tout ça ; c’est compréhensible, et bien écrit, notamment dans les rapports Kara/Kal, mais aussi avec Krypto, juste parfait.
Mais, surtout, il faut célébrer l’art de Kevin Maguire, que j’avais trouvé déplacé sur Man of Steel, mais qui est complètement parfait pour montrer les émotions changeantes de Supergirl, une jeune fille troublée, perdue, mais… bien déterminée et butée ! Avec également des supers passages sur Krypto, l’artiste rend des planches superbes, qui fonctionnent complètement avec le script sobre mais rigolo et dynamique d’Andreyko.
Une très bonne surprise !
(et deux épisodes qui me conviennent bien plus que les douze déjà rédigés par Bendis…)
