All your favorite webheads will band together in a brand-new way this April in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY! Announced earlier today at IGN, the five-issue limited series will be written by Jordan Morris (PREDATOR: BLOODSHED) and Joe Kelly (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and drawn by artist Pere Perez (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: TORN).
Spinning directly out of Kelly’s hit run of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-VERSITY sees Norman Osborn take various Spider-heroes under his wing to train them against a deadly incoming threat—himself! Following up on Norman’s heroic turn as Spider-Man—as well as his looming descent back to madness—and bringing the entire Spider-family together as a united front, the series is an essential chapter in the lead-up to AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1000, the mega milestone issue coming later this year.

A tout prendre, je préfère les voir réunis ensemble dans cette mini ( et plus si affinités) que chacun dans sa série.

Oh, j’ai détesté. Jordan Morris & Joe Kelly lance leur titre où Norman Osborn veut former les Spiders, afin qu’ils puissent mieux résister aux défis et aux attaques, en créant une Spider-Versity, selon le nom qu’ils se donnent eux-mêmes. Miles Morales réunit Silk, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Boy, Spider-Girl et Arana, avec Norman qui les attaque pour montrer leur inexpérience et leur incapacité à travailler ensemble ou séparément. La leçon est dure mais juste, mais il est ensuite vaincu par Jessica Drew, qui veut s’impliquer par méfiance envers Norman. Et alors que Carnage les observe discrètement…
Je n’ai pas aimé, non. Le principe est compréhensible, mais l’approche me navre. L’humour est lourd, les personnages sont pour la plupart neuneus voire débiles, et l’ensemble est un déluge d’action sans intérêt. Les Spiders sont trop nombreux et, encore une fois, assez débiles, et ça gêne ma lecture, alors que les dessins de Pere Pérez sont jolis et dynamiques.
L’humour lourd, la caractérisation débile et un surplus de personnages dispensables… tout ça me fait fuir, et vite.
