Je ne lis pas le titre mais les critiques générales sont plutôt positives. Bien meilleures que le travail de la Finch Family.

J’ai enfin lu ce titre que j’attendais depuis des semaines, et j’ai adoré !

Renae De Liz, a réussi le tour de force de réinventer l’histoire des amazones et de Diana, tout en restant proche de ce que l’on connait (on oublie bien sur la version de Brian Azzarello).
Les changements qu’elle opère sont cohérents, et on découvre, entre autres, l’histoire des amazones, leur lien avec les dieux, le pourquoi de la création de Themyscira, mais aussi pourquoi il y a des enfants sur l’île. Car oui, ici Diana n’est pas la seule enfant parmi les amazones.

Ce 1er numéro permet aussi de faire connaissance avec Diana et de voir son caractère différent des autre enfants, qui ne s’explique pas uniquement par son statut de « fille de la Reine », ni par la relation qu’elle a avec cette dernière d’ailleurs. Il y a quelque-chose d’autre, qui l’amènera a être confrontée au danger.

Au niveau visuel, c’est beau, détaillé, lumineux avec de très belles couleurs. Un vrai régal.

Pour ceux qui aiment une version plus « classique » que ce que l’on nous sert depuis le New52, je crois que ce titre est idéal.
Personnellement, rien qu’avec ce numéro, ce titre fait déjà partie de mon top, et brigue la 1ère place. C’est ce que j’ai lu de mieux depuis trèèèès longtemps sur Wonder Woman (et certains connaissent mon « attachement » au personnage ).
Mon seul regret, c’est qu’il s’agit d’une mini-série en 9 numéros.

L’annonce a été faite officiellement, une saison 2 est en route.

Cartoonist Renae De Liz took to Twitter to announce that she and the publisher are prepping a second volume of the series that takes the character back to her roots in terms of origin and time period.

Originally serialized as part of DC’s digital first initiative before moving to a print mini series, De Liz’s first « Wonder Woman » story has garnered critical praise and an Eisner Award nomination in the Best Digital category.

Fantastique nouvelle pour ma part, car, comme je le disais dans un message précédent, c’est LA série Wonder Woman la plus réussie que j’ai lu depuis trèèèèès longtemps.
La revisite des origines est excellente, et Renae De Liz utilise très bien l’univers WW, avec un mention particulière pour son Etta Candy.
La seule série pour laquelle je fais le pied de grue chez mon libraire dès sa sortie, et pour laquelle la lecture est à chaque fois un pur moment de plaisir !

Plusieurs mois après cette annonce, DC a annulé The Legend of Wonder Woman, laissant les deux auteurs, qui étaient en plein travail sur le volume 2, dans une situation financière difficile.

Très déçue par cette nouvelle. Cette série est géniale, pendant la période New 52 qui était horrible à suivre pour des fans de WW, le titre du couple De Liz/Dillon permettait de retrouver le personnage que l’on aimait.
J’attendais vraiment cette suite de pied ferme, oui vraiment très très déçue.

Et tout ça sans parler bien sur de la vacherie faite aux auteurs, qui ont travaillé pour rien et se sont retrouvés le bec dans l’eau.

La scénariste Renae De Liz tient à clarifier sa version des faits puisque DC Comics a confirmé sa mésentente avec le couple d’auteurs (notamment due à une série de tweets plutôt amère de la part des deux compagnons impliquant la mini-série The Odyssey of the Amazons) :

La série The Legend of Wonder Woman sortira en juillet chez Urban sous le titre Wonder Woman - Legendary (et sous la bannière Urban Link, la nouvelle collection pour les « Jeunes Adultes »).

Ah très très bonne nouvelle ! J’ai adoré ce titre.
Par contre collection pour les « Jeunes Adultes » je ne vois pas pourquoi. Ce titre convient sans problème pour un enfant. Bon après il faut voir ce qu’Urban entend par « Jeunes Adultes ».

En tout cas, ça se confirme, juillet va me coûter cher en WW.
