THE UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL #1-26 (Ryan North / Henderson)

NEW SERIES. NEW AVENGER(!). STILL EATS NUTS AND KICKS BUTTS!

Galactus. Thanos. M.O.D.O.K. With her unique combination of wit, empathy, and totally kick-butt squirrel powers, Doreen Green – aka The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl – has taken ALL these chumps down! Alongside her friends Tippy-Toe (a squirrel) and Nancy (a regular human with no powers whatsoever – they checked), Squirrel Girl is all that stands between the Earth and total destruction! Sometimes. Other times there’s no threats and she’s just a regular computer science student. That’s an adventure too though![/quote]

• Remember last month when we said #1 was a great jumping-on point for new readers? Well, guess what? #2 is too! Start of a new story, baby!

• (It's ALSO a great "continuing-on" point for existing readers.)

• In this issue, Squirrel Girl gets sent BACK IN TIME and also ERASED FROM HISTORY. Only her friend Nancy even remembers she existed!

• So Nancy turns to the only hero she can contact (on social media) for help in rescuing her: IRON MAN.

• Also a surprise villain shows up, from the past! It could be LITERALLY ANY BAD GUY but it's a good one, I PROMISE.

• P.S.: it is not Galactus; we already did him.

• Squirrel Girl has woken up, only to find she’s been hurled back in time to the 1960s! Mondays, am I right?

• And if that wasn’t trouble enough, her friend Nancy is coming face to face with the villainous [CENSORED]!

• Yes, I’ve noticed that when I type [CENSORED]'s name it shows up as [CENSORED]; no, I don’t know how to fix that.

• This book features the following: Squirrel Girl, time travel, [CENSORED], and emotions! It promises to satisfy fans of each of those things, even if they don’t like the other things!

• Which is great because emotions are just THE WORST[/quote]

Ça me fascine.

• Squirrel Girl has been sent back in time to the sixties, which would be fine I guess, except now the future is ruled by Doctor Doom!

• Anyway, that’s not her fault, but she’s still fixing it because she’s just THAT GOOD.

• The final battle between Doctor Doom, Squirrel Girl and… an old-lady version of Squirrel Girl from the future?? Yes! Meet the sensational character find of 2016: AN OLD LADY!

• Fun fact: Besides adults literally fighting each other, this issue also features SEVERAL jokes!

• Don’t miss the hit comic featured on Entertainment Weekly’s Must List (which was several months ago for everyone reading this, but it was just yesterday when this text was being written and we’re all still very excited about it!)![/quote]
