(Ward, on l’a vu sur quoi déjà ? Son nom ne m’évoque pas de grand bonheur graphique !)

On a pas eu beaucoup de choses en V.F. Chez Marvel, il a dessiné la série Black Bolt qui est toujours inédite. Il a aussi dessiné un ou deux épisodes des Ultimates de Al Ewing (ça se trouve dans un All-New Avengers HS)…

Avec Thor #1, Jason Aaron poursuit l’immense saga entamée sur Thor: God of Thunder en 2012, qui l’a mené ensuite à gérer Jane Foster dans le rôle dans Thor puis Mighty Thor. Et si Odinson est désormais redevenu le tenant du nom et du titre, nous reprenons sur les mêmes bases que précédemment, et avec les mêmes joueurs : la guerre des royaumes, Odin, Freya, Loki, Volstagg, même Jane Foster encore ; et c’est toujours une réussite.
Grand fan de ce run, je me suis régalé avec ce numéro, qui fonctionne très bien comme point de relance, et livre un Thor plutôt fun, avec presque un discours d’auto-dérision sur lui-même… au fond, plutôt très proche du film Ragnarok. Cela se lit néanmoins parfaitement en comics, sans faire « copie » du long-métrage, et j’ai hâte de lire la suite.
Si Mike Del Mundo a un trait surprenant, qui ne me parle pas énormément, je dois avouer que ça rend bien, dans l’ambiance voulue par Aaron. Ce dernier se fait aussi et encore plaisir via un passage dans le futur, avec le vieux Thor et ses petites-filles ; c’est aussi une réussite, notamment grâce à l’émotion déclenchée, et aux dessins de Christian Ward, parfait ici.

Une réussite définitive, qui donne envie de lire rapidement la suite !
