Sympathique.
La Doom Patrol, menée par une personnalité Chef(fe ?) de Crazy Jane, se spécialise pour aider les métahumains créés par la pluie Lazarus, et paumés. Ils interviennent à Gotham, avec leur membre Beast Girl qui a forme animale mais peut surtout déclencher des réflexes « animaux » chez les gens (la peur panique, par exemple). Ils essayent d’aider un métahumain, déjà approché par une entreprise qui veut profiter de ces pouvoirs pour les monnayer. Batman & Robin veulent aider, mais se font repousser car ils ne sont pas métahumains et ne comprennent pas. En parallèle, le Cerveau et Mr Mallah ont des mots en voulant retrouver le Général Immortus, et Mallah en vient à détruire le Cerveau, lassé de son attitude.
C’est sympa’, oui. Dennis Culver gère plutôt bien l’ensemble, avec des personnages bien écrits et un rythme efficace. Je suis plus surpris par l’attitude de Mallah, et il n’empêche que cela reste « sage » pour du Doom Patrol. Mais c’est sympa’ et divertissant.
Surtout, c’est assez joli graphiquement, avec un Chris Burnham bien impliqué et appliqué dans son approche, et qui livre de belles planches détaillées.
Sympathique. Pas sûr que ça me tienne longtemps, mais c’est sympathique.
C’est hyper divertissant, je trouve. Ca va vite, c’est un peu crazy sans tomber dans le débile et surtout ca donne un peu de profondeur au piteux Lazarus Event.
Mais ce que j’aime le plus, c’est Chris JambonCouille que j’adore.

J’ai beaucoup apprécié cette lecture! Le deuxième numéro permet de visiter la « base » et de rencontrer les personnages du run délirant de Gerard Way et du grand Nick Derrington.
C’est aussi l’occasion de voir les « malheurs » des membres de la Doom Patrol.
On sent que Dennis Culver a du matos pour remplir les pages de Burnham (avec un Peacemaker bien motivé!).
Attention, il ne reste que quatre épisodes ou plus si affinité?

Encore un très bon épisode de cette série dont on attend rien.
Je sens bien sûr l’ombre du retour de Waller qui flotte au dessus du DCU mais intrinsèquement, le série se lit parfaitement bien sans cela.
Le début de cette poursuite débute tambours battants dès la couverture entre la Dream Patrol (RIP Pollack) et les Lanternes Vertes. Les échanges sont très bien trouvé et rythmé, et même assez drôles!
Je conseille vivement la lecture de cette série fun et très bien bien faite!
