J’en garde moi aussi un assez bon souvenir ; je me souviens que le titre s’est pas mal fait dégommer par ici : si ce n’est clairement pas le meilleur de ce dont Remender est capable, ça reste un titre correct, énergique, bref vraiment pas si mal.
Remender partait du principe que Venom est une sorte de Spidey au rabais, il a donc en conséquence bâti un « supporting cast » (vilains inclus) miroir de celui de Peter Parker. Les effets obtenus n’étaient pas inintéressants…
Oui, un casting avec certains personnages « perdus de vue » comme Betty Brant et sa famille, conférant une dynamique de soap « à la » Spider-Man, en plus tortueux. Et puis il écrit quelques très chouettes scènes sur l’addiction et les personnages « hantés », quelque chose qu’il connait de prime abord apparemment.
Bref, c’est une série qui bouge bien, qui se relit bien, même si on sent que Remender perd son souffle en avançant (ce c’est pas toujours de sa faute, comme le prouve une partie graphique un peu changeant et ub trop long crossover avec Mephisto), au point de faire appel à un collègue (Bunn) pour conclure.

J’ai tapé « Remender » et je suis tombé sur ça …je pense que vous parlez de « Spider-Man Universe, Panini Comics, collection Marvel Kiosque » 5. Venom, scénario de Rick Remender et Cullen Bunn, dessins de Lan Medina et Kev Walker, 2013 (ISBN 978-2-8094-3219-0)
J’ai lu « Strange Girl » de cet auteur et j’étais plutôt indécis quant à mon verdict (moyen…).
Mais Je penserais à me procurer cet aventure de Venom.

Panini va rééditer la série Venom de Rick Remender en album à partir de juillet.
