Premier épisode très très sympa.
Sous des allures un peu décompressées (de grandes pages, parfois doubles, et des textes assez courts), ce premier chapitre balance pas mal d’info, tout en ménageant du mystère sur le passé de Malik et des autres personnages. Et sous couvert d’une relecture un peu décalée de Moby Dick (surtout avec la dernière page et le nouveau projet du Capitaine), Ewing nous livre une nouvelle critique du monde libéral, ce pillage organisé qui s’étend à l’espace et à la divinité.
C’est plutôt chouette, et le dessin, qui en soit n’avait rien pour m’attirer, est somme toute assez immersif pour qu’on l’oublie et il est au service de la narration. Les nombreux pans biaisés autour desquels s’articule le récit ne nuisent pas à la lecture. Bref, ce premier chapitre est plutôt convaincant.

Deuxième épisode très sympathique également : on creuse un peu plus les liens entre membres de l’équipage de Malick, qui met son projet à exécution. Cette initiation privée va à l’encontre des règles régissant le marché des chairs mortes des dieux de l’espace, et bien sûr cela attire des ennuis à l’équipage, qui se retrouve lancée dans une course-poursuite en hyper-propulsion.
C’est toujours un brin décompressé, ce qui est peut-être un peu dommage. On sent que le scénariste maîtrise son univers et sait où il va (alors que son héros saute dans l’inconnu), mais personnellement je serais client d’un peu plus d’informations. Mais la narration ne manque pas de qualités et les idées sont nombreuses.
