L’épisode des Vengeurs avec David Letterman est sorti pendant le « Assistant Editor’s Month », une initiative où les responsables éditoriaux Marvel ont donné carte blanche à leurs assistants, avec une tonalité le plus souvent humoristique. La parodie des couvertures de DC Comics en faisait partie.
C’est ce fameux mois qui a vu la sortie de l’épisode de la Division Alpha qui se déroule dans une tempête de neige avec des cases toutes blanches, par exemple. Le titre de l’épisode de Conan était The Man-Bats of Ur-Xanarrh!, référence au Batman de Zur-En-Arrh. Etc, etc…

Le « titre sur Kate seule » était déjà un titre en duo voire en trio, tout de même. Mais bon, ceci posé, je suis d’accord que ces WCA, à en juger par les deux premiers numéros, ne sont pas le meilleur titre de Thompson. C’est sympathique, mais c’est de la comédie pure qui pousse vraiment dans la caricature et ne donne pas l’impression qu’il y a grand chose en-dessous. Ça se lit bien, mais c’est pas le coup de cœur.
